For Rachelle and Adam Poffenberger, Meridian Acupuncture is more than just a practice. It's the continuation of a journey they started together nearly two decades ago.
From Chengdu
Long before founding Meridian, their journey took them across the globe to Chengdu, China. There, Rachelle completed an intensive clinical internship at an East-West integrative hospital while Adam documented the experience through film and photography.
Immersed in a culture where Eastern and Western medicine breathe as one and Traditional Chinese Medicine is woven into the rhythm of daily life, something profound clicked. They witnessed a model of healing that honored ancient wisdom while fully embracing the present.
As an acupuncture physician practicing since 2009, Rachelle brought deep clinical expertise. Adam, a Nashville native with a background in marketing, branding, and visual storytelling, saw an opportunity to translate this medicine into an experience that feels approachable, elevated, and deeply considered.
Coming home to Middle Tennessee
When it came time to set down roots, the pull home was undeniable. Returning to Adam's native Middle Tennessee to raise their son near family wasn't just a lifestyle choice; it was a commitment to the community that shaped him. They wanted to build a personal extension of authentic healthcare right here at home.
Since opening its doors in Brentwood in 2022, and expanding to Murfreesboro the following year, Meridian Acupuncture has grown into a locally owned, family-run haven grounded in transparency, integrity, and connection.
Where the vision is headed
Today, that vision reaches even further. Rachelle and Adam dream of bringing Meridian Acupuncture to more neighborhoods across Middle Tennessee, creating unifying spaces where anyone searching for genuine healing can experience acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, guided by practitioners who are deeply passionate about the medicine and dedicated to an elevated clinical environment.
